Tampa, FL – Oakland is proud to announce that President and CEO Cedric Nash spoke at the Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF) 4th Quarter Symposium today. ITSMF is a national organization dedicated exclusively to fostering executive-level technology talent among African Americans.

Nash was a featured panelist during a session titled “Failing Forward as an Entrepreneur”.  During the session, Nash shared lessons learned from his more than 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur to encourage mid- to senior-level technology executives in their pursuit of new enterprise.  

In February 2016, ITSMF recognized Nash with a President’s Award for his outstanding contributions in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) field, his commitment to advancing others, and his accomplishments as a successful entrepreneur in the IT industry.

“I am honored to have had the opportunity to share my experiences and knowledge with aspiring entrepreneurs and accomplished leaders from across our nation,” said Nash.

Nash will host a networking event for the Symposium participants at his Tampa residence Saturday evening.

Oakland’s Software Value Added Reselling Division has won an order for SAP Software Annual Enterprise Support from the Maryland Administrative Office of the Courts in a competitive bid.  Oakland is a Value Added Reseller/Wholesaler of SAP Software to the Government directly and to Systems Integrators.  Mr. Jim Miller, Oakland Director of Software Value Added Reselling, noted “Oakland is happy to continue its support of another State of Maryland institution in the Administrative Office of the Courts."

Oakland Consulting Group (Oakland) was named to Black Enterprise magazine’s 2017 list of the top 100 U.S. black owned businesses. The BE 100 has been compiled since 1973, basing the ranking on prior year revenues. This is Oakland’s first year to be included on the list. Black Enterprise is a monthly U.S. magazine that describes itself as "the premier business, investing, and wealth-building resource for African Americans." It reports a readership of 3.7 million.
