Oakland Headquarters Team Kicks Off 2015 With Off-Site Planning Session

Oakland Headquarters personnel traveled to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, for a day-long planning session on January 23, 2015, to kick off the new calendar year. CEO Cedric Nash opened the meeting by reviewing Oakland’s 2014 results versus objectives by department. He then led a group discussion of Oakland’s areas of strategic focus for 2015, including preliminary action plans. Each department’s personnel then conducted breakout sessions to finalize action plans and take ownership of their respective 2015 plans. The session concluded with plan presentations by department and closing remarks by Mr. Nash. The full team plus spouses then had dinner at a nearby beach restaurant.
Cedric E. Nash, Oakland CEO, noted “I appreciate the team’s efforts to focus on how Oakland can be a stronger company. By working together our Headquarters personnel will join with our excellent field delivery teams to make 2015 a year of solid growth and increased customer satisfaction”.
Oakland Closes Software Sale to DISA

On December 5, 2014, Oakland closed a sale of SAP Business Objects licenses to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), working through prime contractor Lockheed Martin. The sale represented an expansion of an existing SAP solution. Mr. Jim Miller, Oakland Director of Value Added Reselling, noted “We are pleased to support both DISA and Lockheed Martin in meeting this need for increased business intelligence capability. We intend to do a lot more transactions of this nature, working closely with large system integrators to service their customers”.
Oakland Graduates From Accenture Diverse Supplier Development Program

Oakland Consulting Group, Inc. (Oakland) is proud to announce its graduation from the Accenture Diverse Supplier Development Program on November 13, 2014. The goal of this program was for Accenture to strengthen Oakland’s delivery capacity and business development skills, improve client service and broaden its network. Through mentorship, networking, collaboration and robust training, the program has enabled Oakland to refine our processes and increase the engagement of our employees, resulting in increased productivity and sales. The 18-month program included active business mentoring by an Accenture executive, together with quarterly meetings and developmental symposia attended by Oakland senior executives.

Oakland CEO Highlighted in Article in State of Maryland publication - The Daily Record

Oakland Consulting Group, Inc. CEO Cedric Nash is highlighted in an article in the current issue of The Daily Record. The article highlights the positive growth environment his company has experienced since he moved to the State of Maryland about a decade ago. Mr. Nash highlights the efforts both the State of Maryland and his home Prince George’s County make to be inclusive of minority businesses.
He further points out the extent to which his company has benefitted by its proximity to the enormous market for IT services to the Federal government. Mr. Nash summarizes his feeling about the State of Maryland by saying “I’m here to stay”. He concludes by advising other entrepreneurs to relentlessly seek opportunities and “never quit”.
